I composed the waltz a few years before the Tarry Flynn production. The first two parts came in to my head at about 2am while I was asleep. I jumped out of bed and wrote them down. When I went to play the two parts a few days later on the fiddle, the third part popped into my head.

I felt it was suitable for the dancehall scene in the production.
